Connect a WhatsApp number

Keep the WhatsApp Business app, or use an API-only number.

Choose how the number works

Keep my WhatsApp Business app (coexistence)You already chat from the WhatsApp Business app. The phone keeps working, phone messages show in GHL, and recent chats and contacts are imported.
API onlyA new number, or a number you move fully to WaTalkers. It no longer works in a WhatsApp app. Higher sending limits.

Connect

  1. In WaTalkers, click Connect WhatsApp (top right). A window opens.
  2. Choose the option above and click Continue with Facebook.
  3. Log in with the Facebook account that manages your business and follow Meta's steps. For coexistence, scan the code with the WhatsApp Business app when asked.
  4. Add a payment method to your WhatsApp account when Meta asks.
  5. The number appears in the Numbers tab as Connected.
Payment method: Meta bills template messages to the card on your WhatsApp account. Without one, templates fail and WaTalkers shows "Payment needed" on the number.

Chat history

With coexistence, WhatsApp shares your recent chats and contacts once, right after you connect. They appear in Conversations within a few minutes, each older message marked with its original date.
